Tools doesn't have a predefined Favorites tab but it's possible to create plugins that appear on the Actions Bar under custom tabs. The plugin shown in this screenshot is accessible as a drop-down and as a docked window:
Actions Bar in Tools has multiple "channels" and these plugins are on "View > Actions Bar > Channel 2" (middle box to the left):
If you check out the source code for these plugins under "Tools > HTML plugins" you'll see HTML markup with some special sections. To create your own plugin with drop-down menus:
- Select "Tools > HTML Plugins" from the main menu. Use the "New" button to start a new plugin. Give it a name and a section, and click "OK"
- Select the newly created plugin on the left and then click inside the body section. Click "Add Action" button on the bottom of the window near the "OK" button. Enter a label/caption and what to insert. Click "OK" to generate the HTML code.
- Scroll up to the head section and add the "hkp-listlinks" meta tag with "content" set to "1". This adds a drop-down to the plugin. Click "OK" to save changes and install your plugin.
- Your new plugin will show up on the Actions Bar ("View > Actions Bar > Channel 2"). Now you can use the drop-down, or open it as a docked window by clicking the plugin icon/button.
Hope this helps.
